NCLEX Registration - Understanding Your Options For NCLEX Registration

There are many ways of doing NCLEX registration. Its first step is for the applicants to submit a licensure application to the board of nursing of the state they desire. Through Pearson VUE, the applicant may register then pay for the exam after the submission of all the requirements.

To apply and register, different ways can be done. These may be through mail, telephone, or through the internet. A fee of USD 200 is needed for the examination. Registrants who applied through email will receive replies from Pearson VUE through email. Replies may also be received via the U. S. Mail if there is no email address provided.

When the applicant chooses to register via the internet, he or she may browse in NCLEX online site. Look for and click the option labeled with Register and Create Web Account. Fill up the questions with appropriate answers. Payment is easily done by MasterCard, VISA or American Express.

Money order, cashiers check or certified checks may also be used. These are paid for USD 200, to National Council of the Nursing State Board, from a US bank. It is then mailed to NCLEX Operations in St. Paul, MN. The mail with the payment should also contain the provided confirmation document from its site.

Another method to register is the Mail In. Mail In is prepared by having the NCLEX registration form, from the desired states nursing board, scanned and mailed with the money order, certified check or cashiers check. The mailing address is the same one mentioned above.

Another method is the telephone registration process. It is done after filling up the registration form mailed by Pearson VUE NCLEX. The applicant may then contact the Candidate Services from the site. Information from the form is asked by an online customer representative. Payment is also done through phone by providing the credit card information. But prior to the registration process, credit card verification is done first.

The registrations have a time period of 365 days. This is when the Pears VUE verifies the candidate for eligibility. It begins when the filled form of the candidate is received by the nursing board.

Those applicants who lost their NCLEX registration are those who are claimed by the board of nursing as ineligible. If they wish to pursue on registering again, they should wait after their registration expires. However, they have to go back to step one all over again.
